The distance between two points (x_1,y_1,z_1) and (x_2,y_2,z_2) is given by

d=\sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2+(z_2-z_1)^2}

So, distance between  (2, –1, 3) and (–2, 1, 3).) is given by 

d=\sqrt{(-2-(-2))^2+(1-(-1))^2+(3-3)^2}

d=\sqrt{16+4+0}

d=\sqrt{20}

d=2\sqrt{5}
