In transition metals, the variation of oxidation states id from +1 to the highest oxidation number, by removing all its valence electrons. Also in transition metals, the oxidation number is differed by one unit like (;). But in non-transition elements, the oxidation states are differed by two (+2 and +4 or +3 and +5 etc.)
