Given data: f(x) = 2x + 1& g(x) = 4x -7

  1. Now, for, f(x) = g(x),

2x + 1 = 4x - 7

-2x = -8

Thus, x = 4, viz, the required real no.

  1. For, f(x) < g(x),

2x + 1 < 4x - 7

-2x < -8

Thus, 2x > 8

Thus, x > 4, viz., the required real no.
