Name two egg laying mammals.

Answers (1)

Egg-laying animals are called as viviparous. Billed platypus and the echidna are egg-laying mammals, called monotremes. They are the only group of living mammals that lay eggs, rather than bearing live young. Monotremes have hair on their body, are endothermic, have a high metabolic rate (albeit not as high as other mammals; see below), and use their mammary glands to create milk for their young.
