We have 

                                 \small 3x(4x-5)+3 = 12x^2 -15x + 3

 Put     

                                          x = \frac{1}{2}   

.    So We get,    

                                        12x^2 -15x + 3 = 12(\frac{1}{2})^2 - 15(\frac{1}{2}) + 3 = 6 - \frac{15}{2} = \frac{-3}{2}
