Q: 11.2 (a)  The work function of caesium metal is  \small 2.14\hspace{1mm}eV. When light offrequency \small 6\times 10^1^4\hspace{1mm}Hz  is incident on the metal surface, photoemission of electrons occurs. What is the maximum kinetic energy of the emitted electrons?

The energy of the incident photons is E is given by

\\E=h\nu \\ E=\frac{6.62\times 10^{-34}\times 6\times 10^{14}}{1.6\times 10^{-19}}\\ E=2.48\ eV

Maximum Kinetic Energy is given by

\\KE_{max}=E-\phi _{0}\\ KE_{max}=2.48-2.14\\ KE_{max}=0.34\ eV
