Yeast is used in the production of  Alcohol.  Saccharomyces cerevisiae is the yeast species which is used in making food and beverages. It produces carbon dioxide and alcohol (ethanol) by converting the sugar and starch present in the food. This is carried out in the process of fermentation.

Hence, option(ii) is the correct option.
