1.16 What do you mean by significant figures?
Answers (1)
Significant figures are meaningful digits that are known with certainty including the last digit whose value is uncertain.
For example: if we write a result as 56.923 Kg, we say the 56.92 is certain and 3 is uncertain and the uncertainty would be in the last digit. Here we also include the last uncertain digit in the significant figures.
