The epidermis forms the outer layers of different parts of the plant like leaves, flowers, roots, stem etc. They are made up of a single layer of cells and help in protection from adverse conductions, gaseous exchange and transpiration. 
Xylem carries out the conduction of water and minerals in plants. Thus conduction of water is not a function of the epidermis.

The correct option is (c) Conduction of water
