Given:

 parallel planes are 2x - y + 3z = 4 and 2x - y + 3z = 18

Solution:

2x - y + 3z = 4

2x - y + 3z = 18

Distance =

\frac{\left | D_1-D_2 \right |}{\sqrt{a^2+b^2+c^2}}

\sqrt{a^2+b^2+c^2}=\sqrt{(2)^2+(-1)^2+(3)^2}=\sqrt{4+1+9}=\sqrt{14}\: units

D_1-D_2=18-4=14

\therefore \text { Distance }=\frac{14}{\sqrt{14}}=\sqrt{14}\: units
