provide solution for RD Sharma maths class 12 chapter Differentiation exercise 10.2 question 2

Answers (1)

Answer:  2 \tan x \sec ^{2} x

Hint: You must know the rules of solving derivative of trigonometric functions.

Given: \tan ^{2} x

Solution:

Let   y=\tan ^{2} x

Differentiating with respect to x,

\frac{d y}{d x}=2 \tan \mathrm{x} \frac{d}{d x}(\tan x)

\frac{d y}{d x}=2 \tan x \times \sec ^{2} x

So, \frac{d}{d x}\left(\tan ^{2} x\right)=2 \tan x \sec ^{2} x                              [ using chain rule]
