Figure shows a solenoid connected with a resistance R, a bulb B and a source of emf. The resistance R is adjusted so that when the key K is closed, the bulb just glows. Then, the switch K is suddenly opened. The bulb B will :-
Options:
1. remain as before
2. go out
3. glow very brightly
4. none of these
When key is suddenly opened flux decreases to zero in a very short interval of time so large induced emf is produced across inductor which glows the bulb very brightly for a very short time.
