As we have learnt,

 

Time Constant -

The Quantity RC is called the time constant.

At t=\tau =RC

Q=Q_{0}\left ( 1-\frac{1}{e} \right )=0.63Q_{0}   

=63% of Q0.

 Charge required to reach the capacitor upto 10 V is

Q = 500\times 10^{-6}\times 10=5\times 10^{-3}

Now required time=\frac{5\times 10^{-3}}{100\times 10^{-6}} = 50 sec
