The SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level exam is a two-tier exam. The cut off for the CHSL exam is released separately for all the tiers of the exam. The stages of the SSC CHSL cut off are as follows.

• SSC CHSL cut off for Tier 1 (CBT) - It is the minimum percentage of marks required by candidates to qualify for the CHSL Tier 1 computer-based test. The SSC CHSL tier 1 cut off is prepared using the normalization method as the SSC CHSL tier 1 exam is conducted in multiple stages.

• SSC CHSL cut off for Tier 2 - The SSC CHSL tier 2 has an Objective Multiple Choice/Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test.
