(a) Differntiate between spermatogenesis and Oogenesis on the basis of :-
(i) Time of initiation of the process
(ii) Site of completion of the process
(iii) NAture of meiotic division undergone by the gamete mother clls
(b) Name the hormones and state their role involved in contolling spermatogenesis in humans.

(b) Spermatogenesis starts at the age of puberty due to significant increase in the secretion of gonadotrpn releasing hormone (GnRH). GnRH is a hypothalamic hormone.
The increased levels of GnRH then act at the anterior pitutary gland and sytimulates seretion of two gonadotropins -
Luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH).
LH acts at the Leydig cells and stimulates synthesis and secretion of androgens. Androgens in turn stimulates process of spermatogeneisis.
FSH acts on the Sertoli cells and stimulates secretion of some factors which help in the process of Spermiogenesis.
