(a) Drawin conjectured that birds evolved on island itself.

There were seed eating feature and other altered beaks arose allowing different type of food eating habits like insectivorous and vegetarian finches.

This process of evolution of different species is given geographical area starting from a point and radianting to other areas of (geographical) habitat is called adaptive radiation.
