Length (l) of rectangular plot = 40 m

Breadth (b) of rectangular plot= 16m

Area; of; rectangular ; plot= l	imes b\=40: m	imes 16: m\=640: m^2

Length (l1) of the plot excluding the road=

=40: m-4: m\=36: m

Breadth (b1) of the plot excluding the road=

=16: m-4: m\=12: m

Area ; of; the; plot; excluding ; the; road=l_1	imes b_1\=36: m	imes 12: m\=432: m^2

Area of the road can be calculated by subtracting the area of the plot excluding the road from the area of the rectangular plot as follows:

Area ; of; the; road=640: m^2-432: m^2 \=208: m^2

The cost of paving the road with bricks is Rs 15 per square metre.

Cost ; of ; paving; 208: m^2; of; road=Rs , 15	imes 208\=Rs: 3120

The cost of covering the remaining part of the plot with grass is Rs 9 per square metre.

Cost ; of ; covering ; 432: m^2; with; grass=Rs , 9	imes 432\=Rs: 3888
