Explain the process of transcription in a prokaryote.
Process of Transcription:
DNA dependent RNA polymerase, binds to the promoter site (of DNA), to initiate transcription it uses nucleoside triphosphate/ nucleotides as substrates, polymerase in a template-dependent fashion following the rule of complementary DNA dependent RNA polymerase is only capable of catalysing elongation process.
It associates temporarily with termination factor to terminate transcription, once the polymerase reaches terminate transcription, once the polymerase reaches termination region the nascent RNA falls off so also the RNA polymerase from DNA template thus completing transcription.
