Airthmetic mean of ( p - q) and (p +q)

formula for airthmetic mean of an A.P
= a + b /2

here a = p-q ,and b = p+q

=( p -q +p+q) / 2

= 2p / 2 = p
Hence the  A.M between (p+q) and (p-q) is 'p'
