How is self pollination different from cross-pollination?

1. In self-pollination, pollen grains are transferred from the anther to the stigma of the same flower whereas, in cross-pollination, pollen grains are transferred from one flower to the stigma of another flower but of the same kind. 

2. In self-pollination. both anther and the stigma matures at the same time whereas, in cross-pollination both anther and the stigma matures at a different time. 

3. In self - pollination,  flowers are genetically same whereas, in cross-pollination flowers are genetically different. 

4. Self-pollination causes inbreeding whereas, cross-pollination causes outbreeding. 

5. Self-pollination increases decrease genetic variation whereas, cross-pollination increases genetic variation.
