Let's assume weight of cat = x kgs
                     weight of dog = y kgs
                      weight of rat = z kgs
 By the given conditions 

                x+z = 10 ------(i)
                x+y =24 -------(ii)
                y+z =20 -------(iii)
Subtract equation (i) from equation (ii)

               y-z = 14 -----(iv)
Add equation (iii) and equation (iv)

                2y=34

                 y=17 kgs
x=7kgs, z=3kgs
Hence, the weight of cat,dog and rat is 7,17,3 kgs respectively.
