When we enter a cinema hall from bright sunlight, our pupil is adjusted according to the sunlight and is contracted and small. The amount of light in the cinema hall is less and as our pupil is already adjusted to small, we fail to see things clearly.

In a while the pupil is adjusted to the amount of light received and expands, after that, we are able to see things clearly in low light as well.
