Alauddin Khilji was the ruler of Khilji dynasty in Delhi Saltnat. He ruled over Delhi Saltnat from 1226 to 1316. He instituted a number of significant administrative changes, related to revenue, price control and society. His achievements were following- 

1- He became the first Muslim ruler to successfully defeated and conquered Southern India. 

2- The system of administration as set up by him was thorough and efficient. 

3- He employed a large number of spies for secret information. 

4- He fixed the price of commodities at a low level and regulate them properly. 

5- He was also a patron architecture and art.

6- He constructed a fairly large number of schools, inns and Mosques in different part of his empire. 

Ibn Batuta has described Alauddin Khilji as one of the best Sultans of Delhi Saltnat.
