Yes, the aqueous solution of Co^{2+} (ferric ion) will be coloured due to presence of electron in it d-orbitals(d^{7}) and because of that d-d transition will occurs , which is responsible for colour
electronic configuration of Co^{2+}=[Ar]^{18}d^{7}4s^{0}
