A cubical block of mass m containing a net positive charge Q is placed on a smooth horizontal surface which terminates in a vertical wall. The distance between the wall and the block is d. A horizontal electric field E directed towards the wall is suddenly switched on. Assuming elastic collision (if any) the period of the resulting oscillation is-

Option: 1

\mathrm{\sqrt{\frac{4 m d}{Q E}}}

Option: 2

\mathrm{\sqrt{\frac{8 m d}{Q E}}}

Option: 3

\mathrm{\sqrt{\frac{m d}{8 Q E}}}

Option: 4

Not oscillate.

use newton's equation of mation-
 \mathrm{d=u t+\frac{1}{2} a t^2 }

\mathrm{ d=\frac{1}{2} a t^2=\frac{1}{2}\left(\frac{E Q}{m}\right) t^2 }

\mathrm{ t=\sqrt{\frac{2 d m}{E Q}} }

and   \mathrm{T=2 t}

              \mathrm{=2 \sqrt{\frac{2 d m}{E Q}}}

             \mathrm{=\sqrt{\frac{8 d m}{Q E}}} .
