Applying Kirchoff's Ist law at junction C, i=i_{1}+i_{_{2}}

Applying kirchoff's 2nd law to mesh ABCHA we have

4 = (3 + 5)i_{1} + 5i_{2}

= 8 i_{1} + 5i_{2} . . . (1)

Applying Kirchoff's 2nd law to mesh ABDCA, we have

4 + 8 = (10 + 6) i_{1}+ 5i_{2} + 5i_{1}

12 = 21 i_{2} + 5i_{1} . . . . (2)

from (1) and (2) i_{1} = 0.168 amp.
