As we learned

Vant Hoff factor for dissociation -

i=1-\alpha +\frac{\alpha }{n}

n= number of particles associated

\alpha = degree of association

e.g. Carboxylic acid dimerized in non polar solvents like Hexane.

- wherein

n = 2 for dimerization

n = 3 for trimerization

 K4[ Fe(CN)6] dissociates as 4K+ + [Fe(CN )6 ]4- ,  thus 1 molecule dissociates into five particles in the similar way  Al2 (SO4 )3 also gives five particles per molecule.

Option 1)

Al 2(SO4)3

Option 2)

NaCl

Option 3)

Na2SO4

Option 4)

Al(NO3)3

answer is option 4

as it is ionised it disassociates as 3K +Fe [CN]6 NOW vant hoff factor is 3+1=4

similarly Al(NO3)3 ionises to get Al+3NO3 again vant hoff factor is 4
