In the given circuit, when key K is open, reading of ammeter is I. Now key K is closed then the correct statement is:

Option: 1

If \varepsilon _1< IR , reading of the ammeter is less than I.

Option: 2

If IR<\varepsilon_1<2IR, reading of the ammeter is greater than I.

Option: 3

If \varepsilon_1=2I R, reading of the ammeter will be zero.

When K is open current in the ammeter is I

\therefore \quad \varepsilon_2=2 \mathrm{IR}

Now key K is closed and for \quad \varepsilon_1=2 \mathrm{IR} the current in branch BC = 2I.

So no current will flow from A to B.
