Conversion of galvanometer into ammeter -

Connect a low resistance in parallel to the galvanometer

Required shunt -

s= \frac{i_{g}G}{(i-i_{g})}

- wherein

i_{g}- Current through galvanometer

I_{g}=10mA \Rightarrow G =10 \Omega

and I=1 A

 S (I – IG) = IGG  where S is shunt is parallel

            S = 0.1\Omega
