a car runs with a negative acceleration of -0.5m/s^2. the initial velocity of the car is 54 km/hr. In how much time and how far from the initial point will the car stop?

From question it is clear that 
acceleration (a)= - 0.5 m/s²
initial velocity (u) = 54 km/hr= 15 m/s

Using   v = u + at and v=0

we get

t=\frac{-u}{a}=\frac{15}{0.5}=30 \ sec

similarly using From  v² - u² = 2as and v=0

we get

s=\frac{-u^2}{2a}=\frac{15*15}{2*0.5}=225 m
