(a) List two reasons of using contraceptive methods by married couples.
(b) Write in proper sequence the processes going on in the different organs of the reproductive system of a human female starting from the time of egg production to childbirth.
a)
b) Human fertilization is the fusion of a human egg and sperm, usually occurring in the ampulla of the fallopian tube. The sperm plasma then fuses with the egg's plasma membrane, the sperm head disconnects from its flagellum and the egg travels down the Fallopian tube to reach the uterus. Pregnancy begins once the fertilized egg implants in the uterus. The embryo grows and becomes surrounded by structures that provide support and nourishment. The fetus grows inside the uterus until the pregnancy ends with labour and birth.
