Two dices are thrown.

The total number of pairs is 36.

(i) Even pairs are :

(2,2),(2,4),(2,6),(4,2),(4,4),(4,6),(6,2),(6,4),(6,6)\;\;i.e. \; \;9

\text{Probability (even pairs)}= \frac{9}{36} =\frac{1}{4}

(ii) Favourable outcomes are 

(3,6),(4,5),(5,4),(6,3)\;\;\;\;\;\;i.e.\;\;4

\text{Probability (Sum 9)}=\frac{4}{36}=\frac{1}{9}
