My role model is PV Sindhu. She is from Hyderabad. She is the only Olympic player from Hyderabad, who is a silver medalist and India's first badminton world champion. She plays a big role in redefining India’s perception of women. There are many other women who changed the perception of women such as Saina Nehwal, Sakshi Malik, and Mary Kom who have won Silver medals recently and these are the inspiration of women who excelled in their lives. And Sindhu inspires and empowers women in her nation. She was born on 5th July 1995 to a Telegu family. She was also awarded the Arjuna award for her performance in the sports. At the age of six, She started playing Badminton and she took up this sport as her career because she was inspired by one of the Great sportsmen Pullela Gopichand who won the All Open England Badminton Championship in 2001. She had won the fifth all-India ranking championship. She was the first Indian to win the BWF tour finals in the year 2018. Sindhu’s success story is one founded on self-belief and perseverance and, with it she has become to inspire other women in the world. She states that No one should think that men are strong, and women have nothing. Women are strong enough to do whatever they want. She has broken the glass ceiling and empowered women in India to achieve great heights in this sport. Pulella Gopichand was her mentor and inspiration for her to become a Badminton player. She is from a very humble Teleguy family, She has not lost touch with her roots in spite of being a legendary player in the country.
