'An Election Scene'
As we know that India is a democratic country. Democracy is a government elected by the people. The people themselves elect their representatives from amongst them to rule over themselves. The people elect the government they like. For it elections are held in our country after every five years.
When elections are held, the whole atmosphere speaks only of elections. All the people- men and women, young or old look working for elections. During this period meetings are held, processions are taken out, speeches are delivered, posters are posted and displayed.
Last year the general elections were held in our country. The Congress Party, Bhartia Janta Party, and Communist Party etc contested the election.
One day before the polling day meetings, processions and the use of loudspeakers were stopped. On the polling day the workers of all the candidates got the list of the voters of their areas.
There was a polling booth only for women voters and a polling booth for men voters was also there. The polling ended at 5 O' clock in the evening. After some days votes were counted and the candidate who got highest votes, was declared elected.
