Fossils are formed in millions of year which contains dead remains of ancient creatures. Fossils are the hard skeleton remain like shells, trees, bones which get buried under different layers of the compact soil strata.

(i) Fossils provide information about ancient life, habitat and morphology of creatures.

(ii) Fossils are important for tracing the organic evolution in the living organisms.
