How do vaccines help in protecting the body from diseases?
The vaccines have weakened or inactive forms of pathogens that stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies. They create memory cells helping body to recognize and fight against it in future. This weakened version of the pathogen will not cause the disease in the person receiving the vaccine, but it will stimulate their immune system to react much as it would have on its first reaction to the actual pathogen. This memory response helps protect the body from developing the disease caused by the pathogen.
