Active Voice : The policeman has registered a case of murder.

Passive voice: A case of murder has been registered by the policeman. To come to such conversion, the subject 'Policeman' needs to be stripped of the action he is performing which is 'registered'. The subject which is placed in the beginning is moved towards the end of the sentence and the main focuse of the sentence becomes the action that is performed by the subject which is registration of the case of the murder. thus we get the sentence "A case of murder has been registered by the policeman".
