Two positively charged spheres of masses, and are suspended from a common point at a ceiling by identical insulating massless strings of length. Charges on the two spheres are and , respectively. At equilibrium, both strings make the same angle with the vertical. Then

Answers (1)

At equilibrium

        \frac{T_{1}cos\theta }{Tsin\theta }=\frac{m_{1}g}{F}\Rightarrow tan\theta =\frac{m_{1}g}{F}  ____(1)

For m_{2} at equilibrium

        tan\theta =\frac{F}{m_{2}g} _____(2)

  From (1)  and (2)

        m_{1}=m_{2}
