What happens if our respiratory tract is not moist?

best_answer

A respiratory surface is covered with thin, moist epithelial cells that allow gaseous exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Those gases can only cross cell membranes when they are dissolved in water or an aqueous solution. Also, if the respiratory tract is not moist, the dirt particles in the inhaled air will not be removed from the air in the nasal cavities and reach the lungs and a person can possess severe lung problems.
