What is the point of intersection of x + 2y = 5 and x - 3y = 7

Answers (1)

best_answer

x + 2y = 5

x=5-2y  .........(1)

and

x - 3y = 7

    x=7+3y .............(2)

On equating we get

5-2y=7+3y
-3y-2y=7-5
-5y=2
y=-2/5

and putting this in equation (1) we get

x=29/5

So (x,y)=(29/5,-2/5)
