Limitation of Bohr theory:

1. It does not explain the spectra of the atom with more than one electron.

2. Failed to explain Zeeman and stark effect.

3. Failed to explain the basis of stationary orbit.

Zeeman effect: 

Splitting of spectral lines in the presence of magnetic field

Stark effect:

Splitting of spectral lines in the presence of the electric field.

Bohr’s model of the hydrogen atom was no doubt an improvement over Rutherford’s nuclear model, as it could account for the stability and line spectra of hydrogen atom and hydrogen-like ions (for example, He+, Li2+, Be3+, and so on).
