The person can select 0 or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 red balls: (5+1) options

As black balls are distinct:

For first black (B1) ball: 2 options (select it or reject it)

Similarly 2 options for each of the remaining 5 black balls

Number of ways to select black balls = 26

[We can also use the formula for selecting any number of objects from 6 distinct objects = 2n = 2]

So, number of ways = (5+1) 2^6 -1 = 383 (1 is subtracted to remove the case where no ball is selected)
