Suppose the velocity along the x-axis is u_x and distance travelled in the x-direction is 18 m in 4 min.
therefore,
u_x = distance / time
      = 18 / 2
      = 9 m/s

and acceleration along y-axis is -10\ m/s^2
So, s = u_yt+\frac{1}{2}at^2

By substituting the values in the above equation, we get
u_y = 12\ m/s^2

Therefore, resultant = \sqrt{u_x^2+u_y^2+2u_xu_y\cos \theta}
By putting the values in the above equation, we get
u = 15\ m/s
