As we have learned

The number of ways in which a selection of NONE, ONE or MORE objects can be made from n DISTINCT objects is

\ ^{n}C_{0}+\ ^{n}C_{1}+\ ^{n}C_{2}+..........+\ ^{n}C_{n}=2^{n}

Now,

Total number of ways = 2 ^{10} = 1024

But this includes a case when no ball is selected. So we remove that case

Required number of cases = 1024 - 1 = 1023
