Master of Engineering or Master of Technology degree  (M.Tech/M.E) is a postgraduate program in the engineering field. Candidates who have completed their Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Engineering can apply for the M.tech courses. It is generally a programme of two years (four semesters). Students can choose their preferred specializations such as ME, CE, EC, EE, CSE, BT, IN etc for studying. To get admission in various IITs, NITs, GFTIs and other Universities in India candidates have to qualify Graduate Aptitude in Engineering (GATE) held every year. Various popular Public Sector Undertaking accepts GATE scores for recruitment in their companies. If candidates have scored well in the entrance test (GATE) they can also avail scholarships as per their performance in the exam.
