As we have learned

maximum power in the AM wave without distortion -

Occurs when

m_{a}= 1

- wherein

P_{t}= 1.5 P

= 3\: P_{sb}

Maximum power may be transferred by the amplitude modulated wave when the modulation index is 1 (i.eV_m= V_c)

Total power = \left ( 1+\frac{m^2}{2} \right )\frac{ V_c^2}{2R}

Maximum power = \left ( 1+\frac{1}{2} \right )\frac{ V_c^2}{2R}  taking m = 1

P_T |_{max} = \frac{3 V_c^2}{4R}
