Before  transmission over a long distance , low frequency electromagnetic waves are modulated with high frequency carrier waves because

Option: 1

It removes the need for installation of a very long antenna (running for few Kms)

Option: 2

It enables more power radiation through antenna

Option: 3

Modulation with carrier at a certain frequency prevents the mixing of sound signals with each other

Option: 4

All of the above

As we have learned

Need for modulation 2 -Detecting signal ( Mixing of signal )

- wherein

All audible signals are in the range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz so the signals from all sources remain heavily mixed up in the air.

For efficient power transmission, antenna length should be at least 1/4th of signal wavelength. When low-frequency waves are modulated to high-frequency carrier waves, the wavelength of the transmitted wave is very low as compared to a certain case. Thus antenna length decreases significantly

Power radiation is inversely proportional to the square of signal wavelength. Thus power radiation also increases. When modulation of the sound signal is done with a carrier wave at a certain frequency, it doesn't interfere with other sound signals at a low frequency

Hence all 1,2 and 3 are true
