As we learned

Mean Deviation -

If x1, x2, x3,.......xn have frequencies f1, f2....fn then mean deviation :

 \frac{\sum f_{i}\left | x_{i}-A \right |}{\sum f_{i}}

-

 Mean\bar{x}=\frac{3+4+5+6+7}{5}=5

N=5

            x                   |x-\bar{x}|

            3                        2

            4                        1

            5                        0

            6                        1

            7                        2

\sum |x-\bar{x}|=6

 mean deviation from the mean

=\frac{\sum |x-\bar{x}|}{N}=\frac{6}{5}=1.2
