Does tribromooctaoxide show resonance?

Answers (1)

In the structure of tribromooctaoxide , there is a difference of 0.5 of Br atoms but resonance isn't seen. Since oxygen has a lone pair and bromine is vacant d-orbital so there is a chance of p-pi- d-pi backbonding but unable to complete octet and complete structure hence no resonance.
