Electric field due to a cylinder   is governed by following equation E=0, for r<R ...(i)

and  E=\frac{\lambda }{2\pi \varepsilon R}  for r\geq R   ....(ii)

i.e. inside the CYLINDER  field will be zero and outside the cylinder will vary according to

E\alpha \frac{1}{r}
